The best of Velocity and DevOpsDays 2013 (part I)

What's this blog post about?

Last week, we sponsored two major WebOps/DevOps events in Silicon Valley - Velocity and DevOpsDays. We gained valuable insights from our interactions with customers, developers, and operations professionals. Some of the most impactful talks included "What, Where and When is Risk in System Design?" by Johan Bergstram, which discussed risk management strategies for Web Operations; "Bring the Noise: Continuously Deploying Under a Hailstorm of Metrics" by Abe Stanway and Joe Cowie, which introduced open source projects for anomaly detection in metrics; and "Quantifying Abnormal Behavior" by Baron Schwartz, which explored statistical process control methods for Web Ops. Additionally, we were excited to meet Datadog at DevOpsDays.
