Monitor Amazon EKS on AWS Fargate with Datadog

AWS Fargate is a serverless compute engine that enables users to run containerized applications without managing the underlying infrastructure. Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) allows seamless integration with AWS Fargate, simplifying infrastructure management and eliminating manual provisioning of EC2 worker nodes. Datadog integrates with Amazon EKS on AWS Fargate, offering automatic collection of metrics and deep visibility into the environment. Deploying the Datadog Agent as a sidecar container in each pod ensures monitoring for all pods. Setting up role-based access control (RBAC) is necessary to enable the Datadog Agent to query the Kubernetes API for monitoring data. Installing the Datadog Cluster Agent with admission controller sidecar injection feature enables automatic deployment of Agent sidecars, allowing end-to-end visibility into application performance without changing or rebuilding applications.
