Confluent Cloud Is Now 100% KRaft and You Should Be Too

Apache Kafka has completed its largest known migration to KRaft, moving thousands of clusters without downtime. KRaft is a new consensus protocol that replaces ZooKeeper for metadata management and cluster consensus in Kafka. The migration process from ZooKeeper to KRaft is now production-ready, making it safe for users to transition their own clusters with confidence. Confluent has made this migration process familiar, similar to typical Kafka upgrades, making it straightforward for experienced operators. With KRaft becoming the sole metadata layer in Apache Kafka 4.0 and Confluent Platform 8.0, users need to migrate before upgrading.
