How Form3 is Building Unkillable Payment Infrastructure

UK-based company Form3 provides financial institutions with easy access to managed payment infrastructure via an API. They recently faced a challenge when building a new FPS gateway that required leased lines, physical HSMs, and other hardware not compatible with their previous cloud-only setup. To meet the need for speed and consistency in this project, they initially used Redis but eventually switched to CockroachDB due to its distributed nature and ability to provide both speed and consistency. The new gateway is now handling over a million transactions per day. Form3 plans to implement CockroachDB into another project as part of their goal to create a platform that can survive cloud vendor outages, making it independent from any single cloud provider.
