Video Spotlight: “Chaos Testing – Behind CockroachDB’s Resilience”

Rob Reid, Technical Evangelist of Cockroach Labs, has recently conducted chaos testing on the company's cloud-native distributed SQL database, CockroachDB. The results are highlighted in a video titled "Chaos Testing CockroachDB | Behind CockroachDB's Resilience" on their YouTube channel. Reid uses chaos engineering tools like Chaos Mesh to intentionally introduce faults and disruptions, testing the database's resilience under adverse conditions such as pod failures, network partitions, packet corruption, and meddling with Persistent Volume Claims (PVC). The purpose of chaos testing is to ensure that CockroachDB can handle real-world failures and deliver high availability. This proactive approach helps in scaling confidently and providing always-on customer experiences.
