Sudan: seven days without Internet access (and counting)
Sudan has experienced a week-long internet outage following political turmoil that began on October 25, 2021. The situation shows almost no internet activity with just a small amount of traffic trickling in. Internet shutdowns are not uncommon in some countries, including Sudan, where they have occurred more frequently than most nations according to Human Rights Watch. In the past, Sudan has experienced extended network disruptions, such as a 68-day social media and messaging app ban in late 2018 and early 2019, and a full mobile internet shutdown lasting 36 days in mid-2019. Cloudflare Radar provides real-time tracking of global internet traffic, including updates on Sudan's current situation.
