On November 18, 2021, internet traffic started to resume in Sudan after a nearly complete shutdown lasting 25 days due to political turmoil. The biggest internet access disruption in the country's recent history occurred in 2019 for 36 days. Internet service was mostly restored by two ISPs, Mobitel and MTN, with mobile traffic seeing a significant increase.
