Power outage hits the island of Taiwan. Here’s what we learned.

On August 15, Taiwan experienced an unexpected major power outage affecting most of the island. Despite this, internet traffic remained stable due to backup power generation systems at Telecom and Data Center facilities. There was a spike in requests as people sought information about the outage, but bandwidth usage dropped by approximately 25% as users shifted from desktop to mobile devices. Internet usage returned to normal levels once power was restored.
