Cloudflare now allows its customers to generate Signed Exchanges (SXG) for Google Search with just one click, improving website load times and SEO. SXG is an open standard delivery mechanism that authenticates the origin of a resource independently of how it was delivered. This enhances various use cases such as prefetching, offline internet experiences, and serving from third-party caches in a secure and privacy-preserving manner. By partnering with Google on SXG implementation, Cloudflare simplifies integration while ensuring consistency. The broader implication of SXGs is that they make content portable, which can be used to achieve use cases like fully offline experiences or faster page loads for users. Automatic SXG will be free for all Cloudflare Pro, Business and Enterprise customers as well as for customers using their Advanced Platform Optimization product.
