Don't roll your own high cardinality analytics, use Workers Analytics Engine
Cloudflare has introduced its Workers Analytics Engine, a new open-beta tool for developers to store and analyze time series analytics using Cloudflare Workers. The engine is designed to handle high cardinality and high-volume data sets from Cloudflare Workers. It's currently being used by the company to provide insights into how customers use its products. Analytics Engine uses SQL as its interface, allowing developers to visualize request rates across active sessions and data centers. The tool is also integrated with Grafana for interactive debugging. During the closed beta, developers praised the engine's SQL API, ease of integration with Workers, and simple pricing model (free). However, improvements were made to error messaging and a comprehensive SQL reference was added for the open beta. Future updates will include alert definitions based on captured data, field naming capabilities, and a rich UX in the Cloudflare dashboard.
