Introducing Voyager: The New CARTO Basemap

CARTO has introduced a new mobile-optimized basemap called Voyager, designed by Head of Cartography Mamata Akella. The updated basemap comes in three versions (labels on top, labels under, and no labels) and incorporates vital street-level data for better traffic flow understanding and map creation. Building addresses are now visible at the largest zoom level, allowing users to operate at a detailed street level. Voyager also emphasizes roadways with different colors for highways, major roads, and minor roads, making it easier to identify specific segments and intersections. Additionally, several design changes have been made to ensure clarity and legibility in maps.
