The Story of Team unSting: Why & How

What's this blog post about?

During AngelHack Bangalore, a team developed an idea for using autonomous drones to aid relief efforts during natural disasters. The drones form a hexagonal grid structure and use sensor readings to detect people in need of help. The platform uses the YOLO real-time object detection algorithm, which is computationally expensive, so it runs on Agora Platform servers instead of directly on the drone. The team also implemented a system for chatting between volunteers and gathering data such as volunteer locations and numbers of people needing assistance. They used Android Things to run the drone's algorithms and Android apps to simulate the drones. The project is currently being expanded to include a blockchain-based supply chain for tracking donations and alert mechanisms for first responders based on predictive analysis of weather and disaster data.
