Aerospike doubles performance, shows 1 M TPS in YCSB tests
Aerospike, a database management system, has doubled its performance to achieve 1 million transactions per second (TPS) in YCSB tests. The company published a "recipe" detailing how to tune a database for this level of performance on a $5k server. To recreate these tests, users need the right hardware, including a bare-metal server with two physical CPUs and 10 Gb ethernet with multiple queues. They also need enough clients to generate 1 million transactions per second. Aerospike's performance increase was achieved by applying many of the changes from the original "recipe" and updating the open source YCSB test framework to support the latest version of Aerospike 3.x.
